Fortunately, this harmful bug is extremely rare, nevertheless, you should download the new version 2.79. 09/14/2006: Possible problem with iTeXMac version 1.4 when upgrading the system.
I have been reported by F. Dorra that iTeXMac v 1.4 MAY not survive some system upgrade (Mac OS X 10.4.5 or more).
It may happen that the editor window never gets the focus, such that it is impossible to enter text
(I personnaly got this problem in XCode with earlier systems...).
He reported that a possible cause is the new Java virtual machine (version 5.0),
and a possible workaround is to downgrade this virtual machine (to version 1.2) following
		   apple's instructions.
However, some people reported that they did not have such a problem, another mystery... Prior to installing iTeXMac, you need a working TeX installation.

 - Due to private problems, there is some delay in releasing iTeXMac
2.0. Moreover XCode on a 800 MHz G4 is sometimes very slow;-(
10/21/2004: - There is a patch for iTeXMac

appeared on some G5.- iTeXMac 2.0 is growing. The project management is complete,
the engine management is quite complete. There is now a really
advanced syntax coloring scheme, and document based spell checking.
09/14/2004: - made a presentation of iTeXMac to TUG 2004 this summer in
Xanthi, I met nice people.- iTeXMac 2.0 is silently coming, with a TeX wrapper and a TeX
            project design. Here are
some slides of my presentation to explain briefly what both are.
02/12/2004: - iTeXMac 1.3.15 is out. - My HTML editor did remove some recent code, the following remark
might appear full of sense now.
 What about the future?

            for \alpha, β for \beta, ∑ for \sum, ∀ for \forall
            and so on...

01/28/2004: - iTeXMac 1.3.13 is out. See the release
notes or download.Major bug fixed that prevented some users to work with the menus...
Some news about forthcoming features: really better syntax parsers,
editor and viewer modes, spelling management.
01/27/2004: - iTeXMac 1.3.12 is out. See the release
notes or download.pdfsync has been updated, there are problems however with amscd,
xy and warmread, tabular and \chapter.
It seems that writing good pdfsync macros for ConTeXt is hard.
Before Hans Hagen can have a very serious look at it you will
find my ConTeXt version of pdfsync.sty in the distribution. There
is also something for LaTeX and Plain of course.
In this intermediate release, there is a sensible gain in performance.
Don't throw away the previous version, problems on sourceforge
server could cause unexpected troubles in iTeXMac.
01/15/2004: - You know what, nothing new today. 01/13/2004: - Version 0.5 of pdfsync.sty is available, see the release
notes or download. 01/09/2004: - There is a now new page dedicated to pdfsync. 01/08/2004: - I wished Santa would have bring me a new Mac. He just brought
me a DVD player, that can play games...- Beware of a BUG in iTeXMac 1.3.11
concerning the bibliography. Drop me a note if you can't wait
            for a week.
 Happy new year.
12/23/2003: - iTeXMac 1.3.11 is out. See the release
notes or download.pdfsync has been updated, there are problems however with amscd,
xy and warmread, tabular and \chapter.
It seems that Hans Hagen will try to write a pdfsync.sty like
file for ConTeXt. I hope that LaTeX pdfync will benefit from
            this valuable contribution.
 Merry Christmas.
 12/05/2003:
 - iTeXMac 1.3.10 is out. See the release

10/25/2003: - After one day, I got things to work. iTeXMac 1.3.5 is out.
            See the release
            notes or download.
PANTHER SHOULD UPGRADE TO iTM 1.3.5. 10/24/2003: - Panther comes out today. Unfortunately, iTeXMac does not
like Panther. I have fixed some bugs but I could not post an
updated version (I hope this is just because I am still using
Project Builder instead of XCode...).The first problem concerns the symbols drawer, where symbols
are not displayed at the right location. You can fix the problem
issuing in the terminal the following command:
defaults write comp.text.tex.iTeXMac iTMSymbolMenuBug -bool YES
The second problem is more important: you can't see the output
when compiling or typesetting. This is due to an old bug that
was harmless until today. You must deselect the syntax coloring
of the log in the appropriate preference pane.
I am sorry not to release the latest version, but consider that
            I am also very frustrated...
By the way, here are some forthcoming features: Navigation from
source to pdf (sort of synchronization), support for Tom Kiffe's
MacDviX, synchronization with alphaX. Cool spelling support for
            iTM 2.0, and so on...
 - iTeXMac(Key) 0.3 is out. See the download.
A button has been added to help in configuring the function keys. 10/16/2003: - iTeXMac 1.3.4 is out. See the release
            notes or download.
Minor bugs are fixed. a few are still pending. Better support
for AlphaX users. - iTeXMac(Key) 0.3 is out. See the download.
A button has been added to help in configuring the function keys. 09/30/2003: - iTeXMac 1.3.1 is out. See the release
            notes or download.
The correction of a bug in navigating form source to DVI had
disappeared. Do listen to the iTeXMac user list. - iTeXMac 2.0-prebuild-0 is out. See the release
            notes or download.
BEWARE: this new version will translate your projects! You will
no longer be able to compile or typeset from older versions of
iTeXMac. This has been released for testing purpose and more
particularly for Alpha integration. - Bonne fête Jérôme! - Merci LAURENS. 09/22/2003: - iTeXMac 1.3 is out. See the release
            notes or download.
Do listen to the iTeXMac user list. - A new development policy with a new versioning system come
out today:User releases are numbered "major.minor". The minor
number is increased as soon as a set of working new features
is added, without breaking backwards compatibility. The major
version number changes each time there is a break in the backward
compatibility. Developper realeases are now numbered "major.minor-build".
The build version number changes alone until the result is eligible
            to become a full "major.minor" or "major+1.0"
            version
 - A new list named itexmac-CVS-news has been created to keep
track of my management of the cvs tree. It will be available
within a few hours according to source forge services. This will
help the management and the consulting (CVS integration in Project
Builder is...:(, maybe in XCode it will be :) - Next feature: a new shell script design (already available
for a tiny while in version 1.3-GM+ but forwarded to 2.0.0) coming
with a new UI design for projects, then better support of spell
checking. 09/12/2003: - Bad news: iTeXMac 1.3 GM is buggy. I fixed a problem related
to the PDF viewer, but iTM still does not typeset anymore. I
removed the files from sourceforge. Some mirrors will propose
it however. - I will try to update this site more frequently, as soon
as I work on iTeXMac more than an hour... - To fix the bug above, I am currently implementing a new
shell script management. Problems with spaces in paths solved. 09/08/2003: - iTeXMac 1.3 GM is out. See the release
            notes or download.
